welcome
Hello! We are Alex & Lucas, Florists from Corpus Christi
At The Garden at Emery Lee’s, the story is one of passion, community, and growth.
Lucas’s passion for serving others began in his teenage years when he dedicated his time as a missionary, working with underprivileged communities. Those experiences instilled in him a lifelong commitment to bringing hope, joy, and kindness to those around him. As he transitioned into his early adult life, he pursued customer service roles, where his natural ability to connect with people and his unwavering dedication to his work quickly set him apart. He was even nominated as Employee of the Year, an honor that affirmed his passion for serving the community and creating meaningful interactions. With over seven years of experience in the delivery business, Lucas finds immense joy in connecting with customers, building relationships, and bringing smiles and laughter to their faces—a quality that has become a cornerstone of the business.
Over the years, Lucas has been inspired by Alexandra’s love of floral design and dedication to her craft. Watching her passion bloom into a business, he began practicing floral arranging himself. With her guidance, he has started creating arrangements on his own and has developed an eye for aesthetics. He enjoys helping customers craft the perfect bouquet, suggesting blooms that complement each other or guiding them toward beautiful color palettes. Sharing this creative journey with Alexandra and their community has been a rewarding experience for him.
Alexandra discovered her love for floral design in high school, where she competed in horticulture and floral design competitions. After high school, she dreamed of opening her own flower shop in her hometown. She started small, creating arrangements for friends and family—never charging a penny—crafting vase arrangements, bouquets, and hatbox designs for special occasions like Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day.
When Alexandra moved to Corpus Christi for school—and for love—Lucas encouraged her to pursue her dream. That’s when Beachin’ Blooms was sprouted. It all started with a push cart, lovingly gifted to them by Alexandra’s mother, and a $2 Goodwill stand used to display floral buckets. From “$2 and a dream,” Beachin’ Blooms blossomed, spreading seeds like a wildflower across the community.
Today, the business has expanded to the big red “Flower Bed,” a 1959 Ford Truck Bed that serves as their traveling bloom bar. They pop up at local markets and take custom orders for any all occasions, often appearing at the First Friday ArtWalk Block Parties in downtown Corpus Christi, where they connect with locals and tourists alike.
Although they no longer operate under the name Beachin’ Blooms, Alexandra and Lucas aren’t going anywhere. They’ve grown into The Garden at Emery Lee’s and continue to craft one-of-a-kind floral arrangements while sharing the joy of flowers with others.
While currently operating from home, Alexandra and Lucas are working tirelessly toward opening a storefront and expanding onto bigger ventures. Their mission is to serve their beautiful Sparkling City by the Sea and continue bringing happiness to people from near and far. Every bouquet they create is a celebration of life’s moments, and they are honored to be part of their customers’ stories.
The Garden at Emery Lee’s thanks everyone for helping their dream bloom into reality!
